NSMA offers high-quality musical performances at comfortable, accessible venues where listeners are immersed in the experience without distractions. Our audience members tell us the connection they feel with artists onstage is both sensory and emotional – a joining of hearts and minds in joy, shared experience, and uplift that great music by generous souls can offer.
NSMA strives to provide a wide array of musical genres from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds each season, to broaden our community’s awareness and sense of belonging within the global community.
Dockside Sessions

Event Description
Dockside Sessions is a free outdoor concert series on the Grand Marais harbor, gathering our community the first three Wednesday evenings in August. Come enjoy beautiful summer nights of live music on the North House Folk School’s outdoor commons—where the lake, the sky, and the sounds all come together. Bring a chair, bring a friend, and settle in.
Presented in partnership with North House Folk School, North Shore Music Association, and WTIP.
